Corporate Sponsorship & Special Events |
Angela Zody was hired on to the Hilliard Recreation and Parks staff as a Recreational Aide in 2018 and then soon transitioned to in charge of Corporate Sponsorships and Special Events.
Her journey started after she graduated from Franklin Regional in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. Then after she attended Indiana University with a bachelor degree. She never pictured herself one day working in the public sector but more on the private side for a company. Soon after college, she got a job working for Frito-O-Lay as a manager. She worked for them for 5 years and then moved to Columbus, Ohio where she met Stan Zody, her current husband. Soon after she took time off to be a stay at home mom for her one son and three daughters. Eventually she created and operated a food company called Raw Real and Wonderful. After selling the company she worked for Hilliard City Schools for a couple of years as a behavior specialist. She got into Recreation and Parks to help serve others. She enjoys the aspect of building relationships with businesses with mutual support at events. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her four children, dog, husband, being outdoors, and working out. Her role models growing up were her parents who were driven and never wanted her to settle on her dreams. Angela looks forward to continuing to develop the city events and building more relationships with the businesses in Hilliard. |
The City of Hilliard Recreation and Parks and Department was established in 1974 when Mayor Roger Reynolds commissioned Phyllis Ernst to create a summer youth recreation program.
From the humble beginnings of one a 50-meter pool and the Community and Senior Center the department has expanded rapidly. Currently, in 2020, the Parks and Recreation department maintains 24 parks, two pools and two buildings. They also provide an assortment of diverse and leisure recreation activities from sports teams to year-round city events for community members of all ages. |
